Clients across the commercial real estate industry recognize the value of using a CCIM. As clients consider selling or purchasing in primary, secondary, and tertiary markets, they call on CCIMs because they need advanced skills to make complex real estate decisions. As the year draws to an end, remember to renew your membership, update your online profile on FindaCCIM.com, and position yourself for advancement in 2016.
Throughout 2015, CCIM Institute has made substantial progress on the initiatives identified in our strategic plan, including an Education Summit to set the future direction of our education. As part of the initiatives, CCIM continues to roll out the blended learning format in our core courses. We now offer 36 courses through the Ward Center for up-to-the-minute continuing education for industry professionals.
Internationally, CCIM leaders represented the Institute in Taiwan, France, and Poland to gain global perspective and position the CCIM brand locally. We have developed a model to allow us to focus our resources to determine which countries create the best opportunities for growing the CCIM brand globally.
To bolster our legislative impact, CCIM joined the Real Estate Roundtable, commercial real estate's most influential organization in the legislative arena. My participation this year allowed CCIM to become an integral part of this powerful, broad-based advocate for the commercial real estate profession.
This fall, our annual conference CCIM Thrive was a resounding success, with attendance far surpassing previous years. At the concurrent fall business meetings, 244 new designees were pinned, bringing this year's total of new CCIMs to over 400.
As I turn the leadership reins over to CCIM's 2016 president,
Steven Moreira, CCIM, I want to thank our members for the privilege of being CCIM president. It's been an honor to be part of setting a progressive direction for CCIM for many years to come.
Mark Macek, CCIM
2015 CCIM Institute President
