History and Impact
The CCIM Institute: A Rich History of Talent Development
Since 1967, The CCIM Institute has been the established leader in education, technology, and networking resources. We are a member-driven community, helping more than 13,000 members by supplying the finest education and tools.
Founded by Jay W. Levine, CCIM, The CCIM Institute's first president, and Jim McMichael, CCIM, the first Designee, The CCIM Institute has built its reputation on delivering the most in-depth education and analytical tools available in the commercial real estate industry.
Levine and McMichael recruited two successful students, Palmer Berge, CCIM, and Victor Lyon, CCIM, from one of the early classes to help develop The CCIM Institute's curriculum. Their dedication to sharing proven market, financial, and investment analysis methods evolved into the world-class education and technology products and services The Institute offers today.

Hundreds of CCIM Designees have contributed their time and talent in countless ways, including:

These member-driven initiatives and contributions have elevated The CCIM Institute's reputation as the world's premier commercial real estate organization.
