Career Development Education Program

The Career Development Education Program (CDEP) is designed to support the professional growth of individuals new to the commercial real estate profession.  Whether you're starting your career in commercial real estate or making a strategic transition, this program offers a valuable opportunity to build expertise, credibility, and connections within the industry.  

Applicants can utilize the program discounts to pursue the CCIM Designation or one of our certificate opportunities; the CDEP program will support your efforts to further your knowledge and career in commercial real estate. 

This initiative reflects our commitment to nurturing the next generation of industry leaders through access to high-quality education and resources. 

Program Benefits 
Qualified candidates accepted into the program will receive: 

1. Discounted course pricing 

• CCIM Designation Courses: $975.00 tuition rate for CI 101, and $1125 for CI 102-104. The courses can be taken online instructor-led, in-person in a classroom setting, or self-paced format.
• Continuing Education Courses: $100 discount on tuition for the Institute’s Foundations for Success in Commercial Real Estate course, a two-day course offered in more than 50 markets nationwide. The course tuition varies within each market. 

Additional Course Discounts 

2. Reduced CCIM Candidate Membership 

• $200 off CCIM Candidate membership, prorated according to the month joined. Discounts cannot be applied to previously purchased Candidate Memberships. 

Program Qualifications & Application Submission 

Those interested in applying must complete the application and meet the following qualifications:  

• Maintain an active Candidate membership 
• Have 0 – 2 years’ experience as a CRE professional. 
  • Qualifying individuals include recent college graduates, professionals transitioning from residential to commercial, a change of career, etc. 
• Be a member, student, and/or employee of participating organizations and universities 
  • Participating Organizations include Institute Corporate Partners, NAREB, NAHREP, AREAA, AAREP, CREW 
  • Universities participating in the CCIM University Alliance Program, HBCUs, HHCUs 

Eligible applicants will receive notice of approval within two business days of their completed application being received. Upon approval, CDEP participants will have a maximum of 24 months to utilize their discounts. 

Please Note: Active Candidate membership is required to utilize the course discounts outlined.  Membership is not required upon submission of the application.
