President's Desk
Designation Driven
By Wayne D'Amico |
It’s my
privilege to serve as 2013 CCIM President in this pivotal year for commercial
and investment real estate. The Institute will focus on promoting the CCIM
designation worldwide and the value CCIMs bring to the marketplace.
Last year
CCIM designees marketed more than $359 million in properties through CCIM’s
National Virtual Deal Making Sessions. This year you can benefit by
participating in these online property marketing events. The value of this CCIM
benefit far exceeds the cost to renew your annual membership.
If you’re
considering taking a new direction in this year, use the Leadership Assessment
Tool, a free online service in the CCIM Career Center, to glean insight into
your strengths as well as areas in which you can sharpen your skills.
The CCIM
education and network played an important role in shaping the careers of the
five industry experts on the CCIM All-Star Panel at the 2012 CCIM Live!
conference in Las Vegas. I had the honor of moderating the conversation among
Richard E. Frazier Jr., CCIM, director of real estate for Kaman Industrial
Technologies; Ryan Lorey, CCIM, senior director at Broadcom Corp.; Mark Lee
Levine, CCIM, professor and former director of the University of Denver’s Burns
School of Real Estate and Construction Management; Jeffrey Lyon, CCIM, CEO of
Kidder Mathews; and Curt Johnson, CCIM, vice chairman of First American
Insurance Corp. My thanks to them for sharing their experiences.
Good
things are coming your way in 2013. Get involved: Take advantage of the many
benefits and services available through the Institute. Let’s work together to
ensure the year ahead is prosperous for everyone in our CCIM network.
Sincerely,
Wayne
D’Amico, CCIM
2013 CCIM
Institute President
