Inkless Imaging

Polaroid’s PoGo digital mobile photo printer wirelessly prints images from Bluetooth-enabled camera phones and PictBridge-enabled digital cameras with a USB cable. Running on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, the device takes one minute to print a photo. The PoGo uses an inkless printing system in which the photo paper is embedded with heat-activated yellow, magenta, and cyan dye crystals, producing two-by-three-inch smudge-proof, water- resistant images. The printer also has only one button, making it as easy to operate as its namesake toy. The PoGo printer costs $149.99, and a list of compatible camera phones is available online.

Weighing 2.5 ounces, Canary Wireless’ second-generation Digital Hotspotter allows travelers to verify Wi-Fi signal availability without unpacking their laptops. The device’s LCD screen displays network ID, signal strength, and accessibility information for up to 20 networks.
