The CCIM Institute and FIABCI, the International Real Estate Federation, are pleased to announce a new strategic partnership designed to strengthen the global real estate profession and expand the reach and impact of both organizations.

The partnership was formally established on September 14, 2026, when leaders from The CCIM Institute and FIABCI signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the FIABCI Taiwan International Trade Mission. Taiwan provided a fitting backdrop for the new collaboration, as The CCIM Institute has maintained a strong presence in Asia through its Taiwan Chapter for over twenty-five years.

For CCIM designees, the partnership creates an important opportunity to further elevate awareness of the CCIM designation and the expertise CCIMs bring to real estate investment and business decisions around the world. By connecting CCIM designees and FIABCI’s international network, the collaboration will increase opportunities to build relationships across markets, share CRE expertise, develop referral and business opportunities, and demonstrate the value a CCIM designee brings to complex real estate decisions.

“Commercial real estate is increasingly interconnected, and the professionals we serve need knowledge and relationships that extend beyond their local markets,” said Adam Palmer, CCIM, SIOR, Global President. “Our partnership with FIABCI allows us to bring together two strong global networks with a shared commitment to elevating the real estate profession. Together, we can create greater opportunities for professionals to learn, connect, and succeed wherever they do business.”

Through the collaboration, The CCIM Institute and FIABCI will explore opportunities to connect their respective communities, expand access to educational resources, share industry insights and thought leadership, and create new opportunities for professionals to build relationships and conduct business across international markets.

“Signing this MoU with The CCIM Institute reflects FIABCI’s commitment to working closely with our Principal Members, who are a vital pillar of our organization. CCIM, for example, is a FIABCI Principal Member through our U.S. Chapter,” said Lily Chang, FIABCI World President.

“We are confident that this partnership will create greater synergy around our shared values and further strengthen the global commercial real estate profession. By bringing together FIABCI’s international network and global perspective with CCIM’s expertise and professional community, we can create even more opportunities for knowledge exchange, professional development, and cross-border collaboration.”

The partnership will provide a foundation for both organizations to identify opportunities that benefit their members and the broader real estate community, including:

  • Expanding educational and professional development opportunities across international markets
  • Connecting CCIM and FIABCI professionals to encourage global networking, referrals, and business opportunities
  • Creating opportunities for collaboration at conferences, events, and other industry programs
  • Increasing awareness of each organization and its resources among real estate professionals worldwide

The collaboration reflects a shared belief that strengthening the knowledge, capabilities, and connections of real estate professionals ultimately strengthens the industry itself.
