Bio

Brian Bailey is the Managing Director of Bailey Real Estate Consulting, a firm specializing in economic and real estate advisory. Before founding Bailey Consulting, Brian was a Subject Matter Expert & Senior Policy Advisor in the Supervision & Regulation Division of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. He was responsible for providing thought leadership and monitoring emerging trends in commercial real estate and finance. Brian briefed the Fed’s Board of Governors, Reserve Bank Presidents, FDIC, OCC and state banking agencies on Commercial Real Estate conditions and anticipated risks. Additionally, Brian has been requested to share his thoughts on commercial real estate at hundreds of venues including universities (Wharton, University of Florida, University of North Carolina, etc.), industry trade organizations, company events, and syndicated radio.

Brian has extensive experience, spanning both the public and private sectors, with commercial real estate valuation, transaction, development, and financial issues. Prior to joining the Atlanta Fed, Brian was employed by the private equity firm Tavistock Group to oversee real estate finance and acquisitions. Before joining Tavistock, Brian was the Director of Real Estate Finance for Flagler Development Group, Florida’s largest commercial real estate developer. Brian’s experience includes working for EY (Ernst & Young), where he was an executive. Brian founded an industrial development company that specialized in the acquisition, development, and refurbishment of industrial and office properties. Brian started in commercial real estate as a local market appraiser.

After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Mercer University, Brian earned an MBA degree with concentrations in Real Estate and Finance from the University of Florida. He is currently working on a doctorate focused on improving Commercial Real Estate valuations. He also attained the CCIM & CRE designations. He serves at the behest of his wife of 30-years, three children and one stubborn cat.
