Government Candidate Membership

The government candidate membership is for a U.S. government employee or for someone in the military who is pursuing the CCIM Designation. It requires no additional designations or advanced degrees. This membership includes all the benefits of the candidate membership with a reduction in annual dues.

Guidelines for Use of Candidate Membership

Requirements of Candidacy

You are encouraged to become a candidate and take advantage of the benefits and services of The CCIM Institute at the time you register for your first course. Candidacy is required in order to qualify for the Fast Track Program, submit a Portfolio of Qualifying Experience, take the Comprehensive Examination, and be awarded the CCIM Designation. Candidacy becomes effective after submitting the Application for Candidacy along with the annual fee and successful completion of a course through The CCIM Institute.

Guidelines for Use of Designation Membership

Requirements for Maintaining CCIM Designee Status

A CCIM is a Designated member of The CCIM Institute. Only CCIM Designees have earned the right to display the CCIM Designation and The CCIM Institute logo. Only Designees may wear The CCIM Institute pin and display The CCIM Institute plaque. Members retain the CCIM Designation by maintaining their membership in the Institute. U.S. Designees are also required to be members of the National Association of REALTOR® as either a REALTOR® or affiliate member of The CCIM Institute through their local REALTOR® organization.

CCIM Designees may take courses from The CCIM Institute at a substantial discount through the Life with the Pin program. Through this special member benefit, Designees may register for one Designation (CI 101-104) course per year for only $390.

Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice

As members of The CCIM Institute, candidates and Designees are subject to The CCIM Institute Code of Ethics and Professional Standards policies and procedures. Complaints against Institute candidates who are REALTORS® may be processed in accordance with the NAR Code of Ethics through the local REALTORS® organization. Complaints against The CCIM Institute candidates who are not REALTORS® are made directly to The CCIM Institute.
