Rumler brings extensive business and economic growth experience to the organization.
CCIM Institute, one of the largest commercial real estate networks in the world with chapters in more than 30 global markets, has named Paul Rumler, CCE, as the institute’s new executive vice president/chief executive officer, starting March 28, 2022. His appointment ends a nearly yearlong search for a new EVP/CEO to lead the 13,000-member association. CCIM Institute confers the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation, commercial real estate's global standard for professional achievement.
Appointed by CCIM Institute's Executive Committee, Rumler brings more than a decade and a half of experience and expertise, serving most recently as president and CEO of the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce. During his tenure, he oversaw an economic development team that closed 20 successful projects, resulting in $351 million of capital investment and the direct formation of 2,286 jobs. Prior to that role, he served as chief strategy officer for the Grand Rapids Chamber and EVP and chief economic development officer for the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce.
“With a solid track record of building strong foundations for growth and prosperity, we are excited to bring Paul on as the newest member of the executive team, pending ratification from the Board of Directors on Feb. 15,” says 2022 CCIM Institute President Leslie G. Callahan III, CCIM. “He is the ideal person to help the institute fully realize our vision of being the most influential, innovative, and internationally recognized organization in commercial real estate.”
Rumler received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Georgia State University and holds the Certified Chamber Executive (CCE) designation, conferred by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.
“Economic development and commercial real estate go hand in hand, so it’s an honor to join the premier organization for CRE,” says Rumler. “I’m looking forward to working with the staff, volunteer leaders, and, of course, the institute’s members across the globe to build and expand on the institute’s long history of success.”
Additionally, Rumler is equally dedicated to the community, serving on the boards of numerous organizations, including the John Deere Classic (PGA Tour) and the Quad-City Times Business Insights Magazine Advisory Board. He previously served as chair of the UnityPoint Health-Trinity Robert Young Center for Mental Health Board of Directors. He also was honored with an Economic Development 40 Under 40 Award in 2015 by Development Counselors International (DCI).
“Paul brings a fresh and thoughtful perspective on CCIM Institute’s strategic direction,” says Chair of the CEO Search Committee David P. Wilson, CCIM. “I am excited to see what the next chapter in the institute holds with him at the helm, translating strategy into tangible results in membership development, leading-edge technology, and cultivating new business.”
CCIM Institute is a global community of approximately 13,000 members and more than 50-plus chapters in 30 countries that educates and connects the world’s leading experts in investment strategy, financial analysis, and market analysis.
