CCIM Institute Announces 2020 Leadership Team

Eddie D. Blanton, CCIM, to lead the organization in 2020

CCIM Institute, one of the largest commercial real estate networks in the world with chapters in more than 30 global markets, announced its 2019 leadership team at the organization's annual governance meetings in San Diego on Oct. 14. CCIM Institute confers the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation, commercial real estate's global standard for professional achievement. 

Eddie D. Blanton, CCIM, 2019 president-elect, will serve as president of CCIM Institute, starting on Jan. 1, 2020. Blanton is principal and senior adviser with Tradd Commercial's Charlotte, N.C., office. Over the past 15 years, he has served in a variety of roles across numerous committees and boards of directors, including Member Services, Government Affairs, Strategic Planning, Finance, and Governance. Additionally, he is a graduate of the prestigious Jay W. Levine Leadership Development Academy, an intensive, nine-month program offered by the institute. Blanton served on the board of CCIM Technologies, as well. He began his commercial real estate career in 1996 and obtained his CCIM designation in 2001.

Timothy S. Blair, CCIM, assumes the role of CCIM Institute president-elect in 2020. Blair is partner with Shannon Waltchack in Birmingham, Ala. Blair’s long history of leadership with CCIM Institute includes serving in various capacities on a wide range of committees, including Finance, Marketing, Members Services, Strategic Planning, and Designation. He’s also on the board of the CCIM Foundation. He began his commercial real estate career more than 20 years ago and obtained his CCIM designation in 2006.

Newly elected First Vice President Les Callahan III, CCIM, is president of First Colony Financial Corporation in Atlanta. He earned his CCIM designation in 1982 and served as the 2008 president of the Georgia CCIM Chapter. He has served CCIM Institute as a member of the Designation Committee, 2014 chairman of the Member Services Committee and 2015 presidential liaison for Member Services and as 2018 chair of the Finance Committee.

2020 CCIM Institute Treasurer Charles C. Connely IV ("Chuck"), CCIM, is managing director of the Lewis White Real Estate Center at the University of Missouri-Kansas and president of C.C. Connely & Associates in Kansas City, Mo. He also is a graduate of the Jay W. Levine Leadership Development Academy and has served on the CCIM Institute Board of Directors for more than 10 years. This term as treasurer will be his seventh. Connely has more than 30 years of investment banking and real estate experience. He earned his CCIM designation in 2003.
