Audit Committee
The Audit Committee reports to the Board of Directors and acts as a fiduciary oversight for The CCIM Institute. Duties include, but are not limited to:
(a) Review the The CCIM Institute, Foundation, and Technologies audited financials;
(b) Review The CCIM Institute, Foundation, and Technologies tax returns;
(c) Review and assess the auditor;
(d) Ensure The CCIM Institute, Foundation and Technologies internal financial controls are in compliance with relevant financial law, rules, and regulations; and
(e) Act in compliance with the guidelines and best practices established for nonprofit audit committees by the FASB, the IRS, the AICPA, or any other appropriate sources that the committee believes are reasonable.
Chapter Activities Subcommittee
The Chapter Activities Subcommittee reports to the Member Services Committee and evaluate the overall Chapter program. Duties include, but not limited to:
Develop innovative ideas for increasing the effectiveness of the Chapter system.
Serve as a communication link between the Chapter network and The CCIM Institute.
Curriculum Subcommittee
The Curriculum Subcommittee reports to the Education Committee. Duties include, but not limited to:
Develop and review the domestic and international designation curriculum materials, and technology tools for financial and market analysis.
Ensure The CCIM Institute required core courses, negotiations prerequisite, and CCR course are current and accurate.
Designation Committee
The Designation Committee makes recommendations on the policies and procedures of The CCIM Institute Designation program. Duties include, but not limited to:
Review portfolios.
Administer the Comprehensive Exam.
Make recommendations specific to membership rules/policies.
The usage of The CCIM Institute Designation.
Education Committee
The Education Committee provides oversight on educational initiatives within The CCIM Institute to ensure that The CCIM Institute achieves its educational objectives. Duties include, but not limited to:
Oversee the education subcommittees.
Ensure the quality, consistency, and relevance of educational offerings domestically and internationally.
Review education content, material, and delivery as needed.
Develop and uphold processes, policies, and procedures for educational offerings.
Education Long Range Planning Subcommittee
The Education Long Range Planning Subcommittee will report to the Education Committee and provide the long-range planning for The CCIM Institute Education to ensure that The CCIM Institute meets its education goals. This subcommittee will not overlap with the duties of the Curriculum Subcommittee, but rather takes an overall look at the educational goals of The CCIM Institute and make recommendations for that purpose.
Faculty Subcommittee
The Faculty Subcommittee reports to the Education Committee and makes recommendations for setting and maintaining procedures for recruiting, screening, and evaluating prospective instructors, evaluating the performance of current instructors, and providing course update programs and skill enhancement programs for all current instructors.
Finance Committee
Oversee the financial operations of The CCIM Institute and make recommendations to the Board of Directors on funding of The CCIM Institute’s activities. The Finance Committee will act in accordance with such regulations as may be established by the Board of Directors of The CCIM Institute. Duties include, but are not limited to:
(a) Oversee the development of an annual operating budget aligned with strategic plan and work plan;
(b) Monitor investment portfolio in accordance with the investment policy. Review portfolio performance and investment manager performance against benchmarks. Oversee investment policy review at least every two years and make recommended changes;
(c) Review actual financial performance in comparison to the annual budget;
(d) Oversee the risk insurance coverage and recommended changes; and
(e) Annually review and approve standard business plan process and procedures. Review business plan(s) progress, requests for modification(s), and close out reports.
Governance Committee
The Governance Committee reports to the Board of Directors. Duties include, but are not limited to:
(a) Oversee the Leadership Identification Subcommittee;
(b) Review amendments to the Bylaws and Governing Policies;
(c) Lead the election processes for First Vice President, Treasurer-Elect, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors. The Vice Chair of the Governance Committee will conduct the elections;
(d) Review qualifications criteria for First Vice President, Treasurer-Elect, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors;
(e) Review committee descriptions; and
(f) Design the Board of Directors orientation.
Government Affairs Committee
The Government Affairs Committee establishes views on public policy and institutional affairs as related to commercial and investment real estate in accordance with the National Association of REALTORS® Constitution. Duties include, but not limited to:
Promote and communicate these views through The CCIM Institute and National Association of REALTORS® channels.
Monitor legislative and regulatory activity, reporting this information to members of The CCIM Institute, and coordinating lobbying effects of The CCIM Institute members.
International Activities Committee
The International Activities Committee will focus on recognition of the CCIM designation globally via trade show presence, trade missions, and newsletters to increase member knowledge of the international market. It will seek to increase networking opportunities for both US and non-US CCIM Institute members.
Marketing Committee
The Marketing Committee is responsible for recommending and advising on The CCIM Institute marketing initiatives that promote CCIM education, products, and programs. The committee provides feedback and seeks to leverage the professional backgrounds of its members to identify and reach new target markets, and better serve existing markets.
Member Services Committee
The Member Services Committee recommends ideas and long-range strategies for development of new member benefits. Duties include, but not limited to:
Oversee the Member Services subcommittees.
Monitor the development of membership related surveys (and initiates surveys when necessary).
Initiate studies and research into ways to improve and enhance online resources available to CCIM Designees and Candidate members.
Membership Committee
The Membership Committee fosters the development and engagement of current and prospective members and students with The CCIM Institute. Duties include, but not limited to:
Promote Member Engagement: Monitor and recommend ways to improve The CCIM Institute’s membership attraction and retention initiatives.
Grow Membership and Student Counts: Develop and recommend programs to engage members and students in The CCIM Institute.
Strategic Initiatives: Develop and promote initiatives that enhance inclusivity within the CCIM community, ensuring a welcoming environment for all members.
Networking Subcommittee
The Networking Subcommittee reports to the Member Services Committee and will have duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.
Professional Standards Committee
The Professional Standards Committee will be responsible for developing Professional Standards policies and procedures applicable to members of The CCIM Institute. Duties include, but not limited to:
Adjudicate and impose prescribed sanctions regarding complaints between and among The CCIM Institute members, and between The CCIM Institute members and others relating to violations of membership duties, Code of Ethics, ethics and arbitration disputes that are referred to it.
Regional Activities Subcommittee
The Regional Activities Subcommittee reports to the Member Services Committee and includes all Regional Vice Presidents and First Vice Presidents. Duties include, but not limited to:
Attend and assist in facilitating the Chapter Officer Leadership Training.
Conduct regional caucuses with Chapter leaders.
Communicate and report information on behalf of the chapters.
Provide guidance to Chapters.
Strategic Planning Committee
The Strategic Planning Committee reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the creation and ongoing review of The CCIM Institute’s Strategic Plan including the Values, Vision Statement, Mission Statement and Goals & Objectives. The committee works with current and future leadership, with input from various committees, key members, and staff.
University Outreach Subcommittee
The University Outreach Committee reports to the Education Committee and identifies opportunities for the academic community to participate in the CCIM education and membership programs by conducting proactive outreach to undergraduate and graduate-level colleges and universities. The subcommittee also reviews graduate-level curriculum of universities seeking to partner with The CCIM Institute through the University Alliance Program.
Ward Center for Real Estate Studies Subcommittee
The Ward Center for Real Estate Studies Subcommittee reports to the Education Committee and provides advanced and continuing education to The CCIM Institute members and non-members on relevant and timely commercial real estate topics. The Ward Center program supports the objectives established in The CCIM Institute’s Strategic Plan, attracts new participants to the designation program, encourages Chapter participation, and enhances the value of the CCIM Designation.
