Warp To 2030 - And Beyond
John M. "Jack" Peckham III, CCIM #359, a 55-year commercial brokerage veteran from Boston delivered the Sunday Keynote at the CCIM 50th Anniversary Celebration on April 2 in Chicago. He compared business practices when the Institute was born in 1967 with today's techno-centric business. Peckham then gave an update of "predictions" he made about the use and impact of technology on CRE during a CCIM Conference presentation back in 1995 at Copper Mountain, Colo. Last, Peckham launched into his vision of the real estate world in the year 2030.
Peckham, president of Peckham Boston Advisors, has chaired and moderated many forward-thinking organizations, which include the National Association of Realtors, as chairman of its Strategic Planning Committee. At 83, Peckham is often called "The Broker With The Fuzzy Slippers." He virtually negotiates tens of millions of dollars in income property sales each year without the need to put his shoes on. He was in his fuzzy slippers for the futuristic presentation.
