TripIt is an online travel organizer that allows users to create a comprehensive itinerary by forwarding all relevant confirmation e-mails to the TripIt database. TripIt’s Itinerator automatically combines everything into a master itinerary while gathering complementary information from Web sites such as Google Maps, SeatGuru, Wikipedia, and OpenTable. TomTom’s GO 720 GPS portable navigation system guides users through the U.S. and Canada with verbal turn-by-turn instructions that include street and place names. The system’s 4.3-inch, full-color LCD touch screen displays a detailed map along with times, distances, and speeds to supplement the audio instructions. New maps and upgrades keep the system up-to-date, and the device’s MapShare component allows users to modify street names, direction, and points of interest. The system’s built-in Bluetooth connection enables hands-free calling and optional traffic and weather updates. And though the GO 720 is iPod-compatible, it will not tell you that your music taste has taken a wrong turn. The GPS navigation system costs between $374.95 and $449.99.

IDX Broker is an Internet data exchange service that extracts property information from listing databases and displays it on a real estate professional’s Web site. Users can customize several features including advanced cascading style sheet controls, a listings slideshow, and required registration for visitors. IDX Broker also provides supplemental listings pages and a map-based search feature. Visitors can sign up for automatic e-mail updates and maintain a list of search results using the My Property Manager function. The application is hosted on the IDX server but will graphically integrate with the user’s Web site. IDX Broker’s single-user license costs $39 per month with a one-time setup fee of $199.
