Rethinking the Future
Most of us have succeeded in commercial real estate by tirelessly applying our analytical expertise and staying focused on the next deal. It can be difficult to pause and reflect -- especially when the market is hot. But, now more than ever, if we don't take a bit of time to understand how technology, legislation, and other factors are changing the industry, we might find that we're unprepared to face the next cycle.
CCIM Institute is committed to providing relevant, timely knowledge to help you adapt and thrive. That's the driving force behind the program for this year's CCIM Global Conference, Oct. 8-9 at the Swissotel Chicago.
We're excited to welcome keynote speaker Walter Robb, former co-CEO of Whole Foods Market, who oversaw that company's $13.7 billion sale to Amazon in 2017. He'll discuss the Amazon deal and the future of corporate site selection with our esteemed chief economist, K.C. Conway, MAI, CRE, who is director of research and corporate engagement at the University of Alabama's Center for Real Estate.
In addition, we'll have a special presentation from Dr. Kevin Elko, a performance consultant for brands such as the national champion University of Alabama Crimson Tide and the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. Elko will tackle leadership in a time of historic change -- an increasingly relevant concern for CCIMs across all market sizes and locations. The program also includes Richard Sarkis, CEO and co-founder of Reonomy, and Brian Murray, CEO of Ryan Cos.
Stay for sessions on blockchain, business development, and the legislative issues that could have an enormous impact on our day-to-day businesses.
Attendees can connect with CCIMs and other top commercial real estate professionals during several networking sessions, including the opening cocktail reception and the Illinois CCIM Chapter event at Ace Bounce, both on Oct. 8.
I encourage you to set aside a day or two this fall to rethink the future of commercial real estate and connect with industry influencers. We're committed to your long-term success, and we've designed this year's CCIM Global Conference with you in mind. Learn more and register at conference.ccim.com.
