Christian J. Johannsen, CCIM, of NAI Merin Hunter Codman in
West Palm Beach, Fla., and J. Tyson
Glasser, CCIM, of RealtyLink LLC in Greenville, S.C., never actually met
face-to-face during the $12.3 million sale of White Oak Crossing, a retail
plaza in Garner, N.C. But just knowing another CCIM is on the phone is
sometimes enough to instill the confidence to complete the deal.
“It always gives me a sense of comfort whether I’m
speaking with another CCIM on the phone or emailing them about closing a
potential deal,” says Glasser, who represented the seller, NC Garner LLC. “You
know that the other side has someone on their team who is well informed and
educated because of the shared experiences and courses.”
Johannsen, who represented the buyer, Garner Advance, LLC,
was also heartened by the fact there was another CCIM involved. “I
believe Tyson responded to me at a more professional level, both on the phone
and via email, because we have both been well trained in the financial aspects
through our CCIM courses and are able to communicate that shared knowledge in
whatever way is necessary,” says Johannsen.
As past president of the Florida CCIM Chapter, this is
another instance for Johannsen of how the CCIM designation can open doors,
instill confidence, and even help to complete the big deals in unexpected ways.
