2012 Capitol Hill Visit Issues
Multifamily and Commercial Mortgage Market Liquidity
Commercial practitioners are experiencing challenges and difficulties in obtaining financing and refinancing for mortgages, small business loans, and short-term loans for capital improvements. CCIM Institute support tools that can help the liquidity crisis such as covered bonds and credit union lending.
Taxes and Real Estate
This year the Bush-era tax rates will expire. Carried interest is likely a target to increase federal government revenue. There is a discrepancy between real estate transactions and hedge funds. The public and lawmakers need to know the difference. Additionally, online retailers are putting brick and mortar retailers out of business. CCIM Institute supports internet sales tax fairness policy.

I think it could be helpful to chapter legislative liaisons and others thinking about attending if you could temporarily but a heading/link for this under meetings or events. Thanks for your consideration.
