New CCIM Designation Requirements

New designation requirements go into effect January 1, 2010. Members who begin their candidacy prior to January 1, 2010 have until December 31, 2010 to earn the designation under the current requirements. Members who begin their candidacy on or after January 1, 2010 will follow the new requirements.

  1. Current candidates have until December 31, 2010 to earn the designation under the existing requirements.
  2. The new requirements currently affect U.S. members only. International members will be notified in the near future about revised designation requirements.
  3. Effective January 1, 2011, the following courses will no longer meet the designation requirements and must be retaken:
  • CI 103 courses taken prior to 2000
  • CI Intro, CI 102, CI 104 courses taken prior to 1999
  • CI 101 courses taken prior to 1992

The updated CCIM designation requirements coincide with the new curriculum CCIM is releasing, beginning with CI 101 in the summer of 2009 and CI 102 – 104 in 2010. The new curriculum and updated requirements reflect the evolving nature of the commercial real estate and business professions.
