Susie Kang, CCIM - Country Liaison
Susie Kang has worked in the real estate industry for 13 years and is involved with several U.S., Korean and Asian trade organizations.
Prior to her real estate career, Susie taught elementary school in Korea. She moved to the U.S. and earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois. Susie currently is the broker and owner of Joa Realty. She is active in the Korean community in Austin and has been helping Samsung Engineering relocate to Austin from Seoul.
Susie has served on the National Unification Advisory Council (NUAC) for South Korea since 2007. While she attending an NUAC conference in Korea in 2008, she visited with the leaders of both South Korea and North Korea.
Peter Paik, CCIM - Junior Country Liaison
Peter Paik, CCIM, CPM is the President of Nextage Capital Advisors, a commercial investment firm specializing in investment syndication and asset management. Peter is also the Managing Principal of Weyland Management Group, a full service property management company covering office, retail, industrial warehouse, and multi-family. Previously, Peter enjoyed a 11-year career as an executive and asset manager with one of the largest landlord of commercial buildings with $3 billion in assets. Since joining the company, he has been instrumental in developing the company from a 2 million square feet portfolio to a 25+ million square feet portfolio.
In addition to running an investment and property management firm, he co-owns the Southern California and Hawaii regional master franchise development rights of Nextage, an innovative real estate brokerage brand. He currently has fifteen Nextage realty offices operating within his region.
Peter is a seasoned real estate investment advisor with 20 years in the real estate industry. He represents clients ranging from private investors to major corporations in their commercial real estate matters. He has a myriad of real estate experiences including title insurance, finance, real estate brokerage, construction project management, asset management and commercial investment.
He is a Past President of CCIM Greater Los Angeles Chapter and is currently serving as the Regional Vice President and Board of Director for the CCIM Institute and Executive Counselor for the Institute of Real Estate Management. Peter has heightened his industry profile by writing weekly articles in the real estate section of Korea Daily and appearing as an international panel speaker at the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) National Conferences in two consecutive years.
Peter received his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from UCLA. He is happily married with three children and is fluent in Korean, English and Spanish.
Outside of work, Peter operates Abigail Mission Foundation, a non-profit Christian organization that supports mission groups and missionaries around the world.
