2008 Commercial Real Estate Capitol Hill Visit Day
Mark your calendar! On April 16, 2008, CCIM Institute members will join with IREM to bring the issues that affect the commercial real estate industry to Capitol Hill. Last year, 275 CCIM Institute and IREM members participated in over 225 meetings with their legislators, educating them on commercial real estate management and investment issues.
If you are active in legislative issues, or if you just want the opportunity to make your voice heard on Capitol Hill, you will not want to miss this exciting opportunity!
Find Out Everything You Need To Know
An Orientation will be held at the J.W. Marriott, in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, April 15, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Legislative staff from the CCIM Institute, IREM, and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) will review the issues affecting the industry and what to expect when meeting with members of Congress. Time is also provided for members to meet with their delegation and role play. Participants will receive the following essentials at the Orientation:
- Orientation Manual—Contains issue briefing papers, the legislative process in brief, how to access the Capitol and Hill office buildings, and maps.
- Voting Records—Each delegation will receive customized voting records of the Senators and Representative(s) they will be meeting with.
- 2008 NAR Congressional Directory—Contains essential info, such as a brief bio of each legislator, committee members, and maps.
- “Leave Behinds”—Each delegation will receive a leave behind, a spiral bound presentation containing CCIM and IREM background information and briefing papers on the issues.

Registration
The Capitol Hill Visit Day is open to all CCIM Institute and IREM members, whether or not they are attending the IREM Leadership and Legislative Summit. CCIM Institute and IREM members must register for this event by completing the Capitol Hill Visit Registration Form.
