Feb. 11 - 13, 2012: Scottsdale, Ariz. (Gainey Suites)

Leadership Academy cadets should arrive for a 1:00 pm start time on Saturday, Feb. 11. The departing flights home on Monday, Feb. 13 should be no earlier than a 2:00 p.m. departure. The institute will cover 2 nights lodging.

Session One – Leadership Foundations

Session Objectives

  1. Discuss the process of personal development and growth and understand the importance of balanced development.
  2. Build greater relationship skills through applied emotional intelligence.
  3. Identify and apply key components of leadership.
  4. Emphasize role of values and develop a personal, values-based leadership.

April 22 - 23: Kansas City, Mo. (Downtown Marriott)

(Immediately prior to CCIM Institute Business Meetings) Leadership Academy cadets should arrive in Kansas City on Sunday, April 22 for a 2:00 p.m. start time. We will meet all day Monday, April 23. This event is held in conjunction with the CCIM Institute Midyear Business Meetings. You are encouraged to stay through the duration of these meetings and other events if you are considering making travel arrangements now. The institute will cover one night lodging.

Session Two – Leadership Style and Cultural Drivers

Session Objectives

  1. Understand the appropriate use of inquiry and advocacy.
  2. Discuss and apply the inference ladder.
  3. Identify the ways leaders influence culture (what they pay attention to, etc).
  4. Define and profile personal leadership tendencies and styles.

July 22 - 24, 2012: Chicago, Ill. CCIM Headquarters

Leadership Academy cadets should arrive in Chicago on Sunday, July 22 for a 1:00 p.m. start time. The departing flights home on Tuesday, July 24 should be no earlier than a 2:00 p.m. departure. The institute will cover two nights lodging.

Session Three – The Leader as Communicator

Session Three Objectives

  1. Review fundamentals of public speaking.
  2. Develop interpersonal communication skills.
  3. Essentials of Public Speaking and Successful Media Interview Strategies.
  4. Complete and report team projects.
  5. Orient participants to CCIM offices, resources, and operations.

Oct. 12 - 13, 2012: Las Vegas, Nev. (Paris hotel)

(Immediately prior to CCIM Institute Business Meetings) The session will require arrival on Friday, Oct. 12 for a half-day session on Saturday, Oct. 13. This event is held in conjunction with the CCIM Institute Annual Business Meetings. You are encouraged to stay through the duration of these meetings and other events if you are considering making travel arrangements now. The institute will cover 1 night lodging.

Session Four Objectives

  1. Acknowledge and celebrate new skills.
  2. Develop an ongoing personal development plan and highest priority actions going forward.
  3. Team presentation of future business plans.
  4. Graduation in conjunction with Annual Business meetings.

Tuition

Tuition for the Future Leaders Program is $2,000 per person. Each participant will be responsible for transportation costs. Food, materials, lodging and facilitation are included in the tuition. Participants will be invoiced upon selection. The Institute will accept tuition payments from Jan. 15 to Feb. 1, 2012.

Scholarship Program

Susan J. Groeneveld Scholarship (Two scholarships available)

The Susan J. Groeneveld Scholarship to the Jay W. Levine Leadership Development Academy will be offered to the 2011 Class of the Academy. Awarded by the Education Foundation of the CCIM Institute, the scholarship recognizes the hard work and dedication of Susan J. Groeneveld, CCIM, Executive Vice President-Emeritus, who was instrumental in founding the program. This scholarship covers the Academy tuition fee and a $500 travel stipend for one CCIM invited to participate in the Jay W. Levine Leadership Development Academy. This scholarship is awarded on merit and financial aid.

Recommendation Letters

To qualify for the program, you will need five recommendation letters. One letter should be from your chapter president.
