Faculty Application Instructions

Thank you for your interest in becoming a CCIM Institute faculty member! Please take the time to review the following information closely before completing your application. Inability to meet these criteria or follow the application process could result in your application being denied.

Application Process

In order for your application to be considered, please observe the following:

Faculty Commitment

CCIM faculty must commit to a minimum of 10-15 teaching days each calendar year (plus additional time to prepare thoroughly for each class). Additionally, faculty are also expected to:

Applicant Criteria

In order to become an instructor (and maintain that status within the CCIM Institute), a person must:

1) Be actively involved in a full-time career in the commercial real estate industry and be well respected as a CCIM practitioner. You must also be involved either as a principal or advisor to principals in the marketing, transfer, leasing, financing, or development of real estate held for appreciation or the production of income or used in a trade or business. As examples, individuals may function in the following roles:

2) Be a positive contributor in your circle of influence.

3) Be a CCIM contributor to organized real estate (e.g., Local Board, State Association and/or National Association of REALTORS®, CCIM Chapter or Region or CCIM Institute).

4) Be presently, or be trainable as, an “excellent” CCIM instructor with all of the requisite characteristics.

Instructor Skill Sets

CI 102 Market Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate

Potential CI 102 instructors should have experience in development and/or have been involved in site selection for a major chain or franchisee.

CI 103 User Decision Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate

Potential CI 103 instructors should have experience in user brokerage and/or have been involved in acquisition of property from a user perspective.
