You can attend one of the Intro classes here. These offerings are specifically sponsored by the CCIM Diversity Program.
Why can’t I attend an Intro class from the general class listing? Why am I limited to only these select Intro courses?
The Cultural Diversity Education Program (CDEP) Intro classes are sponsored by our headquarter office in Chicago, Illinois. The CCIM Institute underwrites all costs incurred with the course. Many of the other Intro courses (list on the course schedule) are sponsored by the local chapters that use the revenue generated from the class to support their chapters throughout the year. No scholarships are available at these courses.
What is the $150 Intro discount voucher program?
Under this program, a limited number of $150 discount vouchers can be used towards any Intro course, which is offered in more than 50 markets nationwide. The total cost of the course varies within each market. The discount voucher program is in effect through year-end 2010, or until all vouchers have been distributed.
What is the deadline to apply to the Cultural Diversity Education Program?
There is no deadline to apply in the Cultural Diversity Education Program (CDEP). There are diversity Intro classes offered through the year in various locations. Students apply to the program different times of the year based on what Intro class they are interested in attending. We take applications until each class is full. Many of our courses sell out. Apply early if you are interested in attending a particular location.
What qualifies as a professional letter of recommendation?
This letter can be from a co-worker, boss, church or community contact. It does not have to be from someone in real estate. The letters can be character references.
What if I have already taken the Intro course on my own?
You can apply to the CDEP and participate in our Tuition Discount Program which gives you discounts on our designation courses required to earn the CCIM designation.
What is the Tuition Discount Program?
Once you have completed the Intro class you can receive discounts on the CI 101 - Financial Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate, CI 102 - Market Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate, CI 103 - User Decision Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate and CI 104 - Investment Analysis for Commercial Investment Real Estate.
Do I have to reapply to the program after I take the Intro class to receive discounts on the designation courses?
No. Once you apply to the program you are always part of the program. Just call our office when you are ready to take your next class and we can issue the necessary discount registration form. It does not matter how much time has elapsed since your last CCIM class. The phone number to obtain information is 312-321-4460.
Can I attend any designation course or am I limited to particular locations when using a Tuition Discount?
You can attend any designation course in any location.
Can I receive reimbursement for classes I have already taken with CCIM after I am accepted into the program?
We cannot refund you for fees you have already paid towards classes with CCIM. We can only offer you discounts on future core courses.
Do any of the CDEP discounts apply to online courses?
The CDEP discounts are only applicable for in classroom designation courses.
Can I apply to any other scholarships while participating in the CDEP?
Yes you can apply to other scholarships. Many are available through the CCIM Education Foundation.
Can the Cultural Diversity Education Program discounts be combined with any other CCIM/Education Foundation scholarships?
These diversity discounts cannot be combined with any other discounts.
What are the requirements to obtain the CCIM designation?
- Become a Candidate of the Institute
- Successfully complete all four Designation Courses (CI101, CI102, CI103, and CI104).
- Successfully complete online CCIM Ethics Course
- Earn three elective credits
- Submit the Portfolio of Qualifying Experience before taking the final exam. The Portfolio may be submitted any time after the completion of CI101.
- Successfully pass the Comprehensive Exam presented three times a year.
