Al
Mansell, a REALTOR® from Salt Lake City, Utah, is the
2005 President of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®.
NAR, The
Voice for Real Estate®, is the nation’s largest
professional association, representing 1 million
members involved in all aspects of the residential and
commercial real estate industry.
Mansell, a REALTOR® since
1969, is CEO of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage
(formerly Mansell & Associates), in Midvale, Utah, a
full-service firm specializing in residential sales and
brokerage. Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage has
offices throughout Utah. Mansell holds the professional
designation of Certified Residential Broker
(CRB).
In 2004, Mansell was NAR President-elect. He
served as vice-chair of the Executive Committee and as a
member of the Institute Advisory and Strategic Planning
committees. In 2003, he was NAR First Vice President. In
2001, he was NAR vice president and liaison to
committees, coordinating the activities of the
association’s policy and management committees with the
overall goals and objectives of NAR.
At the national level,
Mansell has served on a number of NAR committees
including the Finance and Executive committees. In 1998,
he chaired NAR’s Strategic Planning Committee. In 1992,
Mansell served as NAR regional vice president for
Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.
He has been a member of the NAR Board of Directors for
16 years.
Mansell has served on a number of major
committees of the Utah Association of REALTORS®. In
1990, he was the state association’s president. In 1985,
he was chosen state “REALTOR of the Year” by his
peers.
At the local level, Mansell served as president
of the Salt Lake Board of REALTORS® in 1983; he was
chosen “REALTOR of the Year” in 1987 by his
peers.
Mansell is currently president of the Utah State
Senate, an office he was elected to in 2000. He was
elected to the state senate in 1994.
Mansell and his wife,
Margurite, reside in Sandy, Utah; they have eight
children and 21
